Formally in the pre-Viewer2 era, many Secondlife users went to extreme measures to prevent their avatar from automatically logging out. Few knew that in the viewer itself it was possible to disable the session timeout.

In the advanced menu, use: ctrl + alt + d to unhide the menu. Then navigate: character > character tests > and uncheck Go Away/AFK Idle.
THis simple little trick would allow the user to remain logged in for as long as they pleased.

But in SL Viewer2 this option is missing form the advanced menu. It took me a while but after a bit of researching and investigation I found in preferences[ctrl + p] in the general tab, away timeout, and if you set that to 'never' the effect is the same as unchecking Go Away/AFK Idle.

Collaborating Effectively

A lot of the buzz online lately has been collaboration tools, and group management. Many have heard of the power of the Google apps suite. Its hard to imagine but it just got better!

With the previous versions of Google docs users could share documents, and collaborate online in almost real time. The updated suite now has the capability to transmit character by character of what one user types to all of the the collaborators.

Getting the Megaprims you need

I have been asked a lot lately for some size megaprim. The "old method" which many continue to use, is to ask in one or more of the groups they are a member of. However the best and most time and energy efficient way is to have them delivered right into your inventory. Two methods which this post further describes, the Salt Hud, and Megaprim.sl allow for two means by which users can have spesifice megaprims delivered to hem.

█ ▄ Megaprim.SL, exterior to Secondlife itself, contains one of the largest public collections of megaprims I have found. Its only pitfall is that the user must open a web browser and switch between SL and the browser, or deal with the in game browser.

Pros:

✔ Powerful search interface

✔ Enormous Megaprim library

✔ List of Similar Sizes

✔ Does not take up space on you HUD

Cons:

✘ User has to use some for of a web browser

█ ▄ The SALT HUD (heads up display) Available from xStreetSL.com. Salt provides a convenient powerful searching of over 30,000 megaprims.

Pros:
✔ In game Searching
✔ 30,000 Megaprim library
✔ List of Similar Sizes
Cons:
✘ Requires the user to type "/1 request"
✘ Takes up space on your HUD
✘ Can be slow depending on number of requests

All in all, my personal favorite is Megaprim.sl, mainly for its extensive collection, and nifty interface.
